review 1: I whizzed through this in just over a day.Jasper is 17 and growing up in England in a drunken, violent, drug fuelled world, with a heavy focus also on the sexual aspects of growing up.I believe this book is very loosely based off of Ben’s own experiences growing up, and I’ve never read anything so brutally honest and blunt but at the same time hilarious. There really isn’t too much to say about this book other than it’s a very blunt but intriguing and believable story. You get through it very quickly; Ben’s writing style really makes you want to keep reading. Hence why I am typing this at 2.13am.It was nice for something a bit fun after my book challenge rampage and a few heavy fantasy reads. This is my first non-fantasy after 11 fantasy books straight. Would rec... moreommend. If you’re an appropriate age and not too corruptible.
review 2: I decided to read this book because the picture of a happy skeleton caught my eye and i found it quite appealing. I liked this book because I could relate to it quite well and it was about teenagers and how they live and all the small details explained in this book made sense, it was a very humorous book. Jasper in this book is a boy that thinks differently from others, he gets himself into trouble without caring about consequences he does this for the short term joys. What I disliked in this book is that it was quite boring, it didn't have a main plot just many plots in a row. Jasper and his friends took just and went to a waterfall the description of this setting made me wish I was also their and indulging in their happiness. The way they talked of this place felt like heaven a place for lost souls to be found and found souls to be washed with tears of joy. This book made me think deeply about the future and what it will be like for me and my family ahead because these teenagers were going through their last years of high school and starting to decide their future careers and places they will go to for college etc."I think charity is like putting a plaster on a man with no skin." I found this quote interesting although I didn't quite understand it I found myself thinking about it for a while. I recommend this book for anyone that likes reading simple quick stories. less

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a bit like a more modern "the catcher in the rhy"
