review 1: This book by an Australian author is on the A single feather afloat in the opening endpapers finds a resting place in some wild flowers at the end. The universal story of a baby's first step and then we zoom out with a combination of full bleed illustrations and vignettes to see what else is happening at the same time in the wider world. The illustrations are subtle yet detailed.This would be a great book to mentor narrative writing and show a zoom in for detail and out for greater perspective and back in again.
review 2: Confused, bewildered, lost, inspired, these are emotions I am feeling after reading this book. It took a little dialogs with my co-worker to perhaps see what this books is all about! I think we get it now! In a New York Minute...(ooo ooo ooo... more) everything can change! One meaningful event is happening to you, but the rest of the world goes on. A book about thinking outside of yourself...to not be so self centered! less
