review 1: The thing that captivated me initially about this book were the illustrations: colors are bold and drawing are simplistic. The words in this book vary in size and font and go along with the general mood of the dinosaur. The book follows the nightly routine of this little mischievous dinosaur before he goes to bed. This make for an excellent bedtime story. On a side note, I realized that this little dinosaur has human parents (which I thought was a cool detail added by the illustrator!)
review 2: This book was creative to an extent. It was very simple, yet a cute representation of children. This book appeared to represent a little boy defeating the things he liked to do and didn't like to do. He ended up making it a game when he had to eat, brush his teeth, take
... more a bath, and so on. Finally when it came time for bedtime, bedtime won. He became so sleepy, his little roar's became long and smaller on the page. The pictures were also very simple, however, there was a page where a real picture of spaghetti was cut out on the page. That made for an interesting discussion on why and how they put that in their illustrations. I would use this in my classroom to entertain and practice reading skills. I might also allow it to show the importance of household activities and daily chores. less
