review 1: Yet another fantastic novel by Sanderson. This one had a great balance of adventure, character interaction, and humor - Wax and Wayne are wonderfully colorful characters, I especially enjoyed Wayne's personality. The advancement of the story elements of the world and magic system was excellent too. I am super happy that it was just announced that they will be in a few more books coming out in the near future (2015-2016). This was a fun jump 300 years after the original trilogy. I highly recommend it to fans of the Mistborn series.
review 2: I love the narrator of this series, probably one of the reasons I keep listening.Sanderson handles his themes and characters adroitly and in depth, however, there's nothing subtle in their treatment. The reader is not invite... mored to ponder the issues rather to simply experience events as the author intends. His approach to plotting is chronological but I must admit to being truly shocked when one of the characters said that the main action of the book only took about 24 hours. It really felt like days to me. This could have something to do with the fight scenes which I find excruciatingly protracted. It's a good adventure with lots of mayhem and a strong thematic core, but it won't leave me with too many memories. The narration is excellent. less
