review 1: SPOILER ALERT: I loved the plot, and I love the Jonathan Stride series. But among this book and the two novellas (also excellent), the whole Stride/Serena/Maggie thing came and went. I'm kind of confused as to why this was even a plot twist? It never got fully fleshed out. It's almost like Freeman regretted how he ended book 5 and did a quick cleanup. Other than that, the stories are always twisty and hook me into reading too late at night!
