review 1: This was the first book of Mr Freeman's that I have read and I cant wait to read book 2 in the Cab Bolton series! I was disappointed I have to wait until next year!The characters are very believable with secrets at every turn starting with the fire of Bone House. There are a lot of accusations. Which are true? You may think one thing, but you may be like me and be totally blown away in the end!
review 2: Anyone with Wisconsin ties should read this mystery/drama set in Door County. It's obvious that the author spent time there because he described exact locations, roads, even farm markets I've been to. There was a lot of exposition and lots of characters and subplots to follow but it really picked up towards the climax.Seems like this detective will be part of ... moreother novels so I'm looking forward to read more as he even had his own sordid back story. less
