review 1: This is my first novel I've read by Brian Freeman, I happened to pick it up on clearance at a local second hand store. It may have been the best .50 cents I've EVER spent. What a fantastic book. It kept me glued in, and although I though I had guessed the ending twice, I was way off. It's a great read and it doesn't end with everything just hunky dory. There are real consequences for our characters and it makes me want more. I will def. be picking up more of his Stride novels.
review 2: Brian Freeman is a great writer. This book has multiple plots involving more than his usual Duluth, MN police. Jonathan Stride is still recovering from his serious injuries including panic attacks from PTSD & he is having trouble relating to his lover, Serena. He is again immers... moreed in solving a kidnapping & serial killer. The writing style again is gripping suspense, bring you to the edge & suddenly you find yourself left hanging with new clues & plots to solve. less
