review 1: I love Jessie & Chase!They were both orphans and their love for the children who are alsoorphans is heartwarming!I don't want to spoil this book for anyone. Circumstances put these two together and what happens seems to prove that fate has a way of overriding the best laid plans.The story drew me in quickly and kept me there to the point I had to finish the book inone day.One thing is nagging at me and I hope to find out in the next book in the series.Could Mrs. Hollyhock be Chase's Grandmother?Hmmmm ......
review 2: This is a sweet historical romance about two wounded people finding each other. Wanting to try a book by Caroline Fyffe I checked this book out from the library. It was a quick read with lots of historical details but the story never came to life ... morefor me. After finished it I still don't feel like I know Jessie or Chase well. Despite being a full length novel the story seemed surface level to me and there wasn't much of an outside plot. I kept reading because I cared more about the adorable children in the story than I did the hero and heroine. I'll try another one of her books and maybe I will like it better. less
