review 1: The Lost Heiress by Catherine fishercopyright 1999362 pagesI think this book is for anyone and everyone who enjoys magic/wizardry-fantasyOne of the main problems in this book is finding "interrex", a kid who was taken by the watch. This book takes place on a planet called anara. Galen, the older and wiser of the 2 relic masters, and Raffi, the younger of the 2, the apprentice, get caught in a house on flainsnight. Carys,a watch member that is on the relicmasters side, helps them escape. Galen and Raffi try to find interrex and artlians well. Carys goes to the tower of song. While Galen and Raffi are traveling, they get a message from Carys, by the way of the makers. Galen and Raffi visit a town, where a former enemy finds them and starts chasing them. Galen and Raffi travel... more to the unmade land, where they get caught in a swamp. They find a track way in a swamp and follow it. After a while, it seems to end. Galen steps off onto a hidden island. On the island is artlians well. It is a well of knowledge, placed by the makers. Raffi drinks from the well and finds hints to the location of the interrex. They find interrex, captured by the watch, unknown. They rescue interrex and take her the the island.I like that this book is not too fast, but wont put you to sleep. It was also interesting."The interrex! hissed Carys" pg157This is from Raffi's point of view. They are traveling through the forest when this strange vision comes to him."Have you found the interrex?" pg212Carys is in the tower of song, and she magically sends a message, with the help of the makers, to Raffi. One theme that I thought fit the story is don't be led blindlyI would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and reading.
review 2: This is the second book in the Relic Master series and it starts off where the first book ended. Raffi and Galen are on the move again after they get a lead about the lost heiress to the throne of Anara and are determined to find her. I enjoyed the parts from Cary’s point of view more since she discovered so many new and suspicious things about the Watch. The world building continues to intrigue me as we are presented with more history and background…and I feel like there’s still so many things that have yet to be explained. I do plan to continue with this series and can’t wait to find out what happens next. less
