review 1: If you know a little reader who is all about silliness, this is the perfect book for them. Ernest the Moose is large and he doesn't fit in the book. He is however quite determined. The illustrations as Ernest tries to squeeze himself onto the page are hilarious. Frustrated, Ernest is finally ready to give up when his little friend has the perfect idea. Awesome read aloud about problem solving and persistence.
review 2: This is a wonderful book that really brings to life the issue of fitting in and creating friendships with other people. THis story is based around Ernest, a moose that tries a number of different ways to try and fit in (literally!), before Ernest's little friend finally finds a way to fit him in the book (shown by a wonderfully large fold out par... moret of the book). It's underlying theme is again, re-iterating the point that there is always a way of fitting in.This book would again be a fantastic PSHE lesson to have with a key stage one class, to help them discuss the issue of fitting in and being friends with one another. less
