review 1: This is book was a picture book. I believe for children ranging in ages 3-5. The book was about a wise bear named Norris who sat patiently waiting for the plorringe to fall from the tree. As he waited a mouse named Tulip and a Raccoon named Violet also noticed the plorringe and wanted it too. When the plorringe fell from the tree Norris shared it with Tulip and Violet and from that moment on the three of them shared everything. I rated this book five stars because it teaches children ata young age that sharing is a good thing. it also teaches them that sharing builds friendships like the one Norris, Tulip and Violet now have. When using this book to work with children I would read it them and ask them for now on to share something with one of their classmates everyday. Thi... mores will not only teach them how to share but this will also help them to build friendships down the road.
review 2: The Bear who Shared is a story about Norris the wise bear who loved plorringes, which are delicious fruit that fall from trees. He patiently waits for one plorringe to fall, but he was not the only one who loved plorringes. Violet and Tulip loved them too, and they were also waiting for the plorringe to fall. However, they did not wait patiently like Norris did. They sniffed, listened, and hugged the plorringe while Norris waited under the tree for it to fall. Finally the plorringe falls and lands right on Norris’ head, it’s his at last! But since Norris is wise and also kind, he shares the plorringe with Tulip and Violet, and they all become friends who shared everything from then on. I think this book would be intended for a younger audience, from pre-kindergarten to about first or second grade. This story would be most appealing to this age audience because of the simple language and big, attractive pictures, and has a great lesson about sharing. This story could definitely be effectively used in a classroom or media center to teach children about sharing and being kind to others, which can lead to the formation of friendships.Rayner, C.
