review 1: A Cursed Moon 5 starsBren has joined Aric’s wolf pack, not to finally be a part of a pack but to help fight the evil that is obviously targeting Celia and her sisters. While the pack elders are highly against bringing in a lone wolf, Aric insisted so Bren is working with the young wolves to help them to learn and grow to be great fighters. This story, told entirely from Bren’s POV, was hilariously funny at times. His quick witted comebacks to deter “heavy” moments or just to try to get someone to smile were great. While Bren has always been considered a lone wolf, he considers Danny, Celia and her sisters his pack and you really find out just how much he cares about them in this book. This is a short novella that takes place not long after the group fight for th... moreeir lives against the demons. It tells how Danny and Bren first met and while it does go back and talk about that, the entire story actually place within a few days but boy does a lot happen! There is another major change in one of main characters so if you skip the novella and go straight to book 3 you could miss a major plot changer and trust me, this one could be big.
review 2: Cecy Robson's A Cursed Moon was as fantastic as all the reviews I read said it was! This short little read is an action packed adventure and not one to be missed if you're a fan of the Weird Girls series!Taking place after A Cursed Embrace, we know that Celia and Aric are no longer a couple. But this novella isn't about Celia and her relationship problems, we finally get to meet Bren in totality. True, we know Brean is the Wird sisters' best friend and werewolf brother--by friendship--but in this novella we really get a glimpse at his true self in all his sarcastic glory! I love Bren! He is such a riot and says whatever he thinks is best...which is usually something to piss Aric off or make Celia mad for a fraction of a minute. Here we get a nice case of evil ghosties. Yes, ghosties, because I am feeling jovial this morning! These ghosts are pretty bad ass, along the lines of being La Llorona--remember that woman in white that killed her children and then herself? That was Supernatural episode 1 too! Well, she's here in this one too, but she's not necessarily our main villain. That comes with the Ciguapas. They're a creepy bunch too and were a totally new to me supernatural type!Bren enlists Celie's help when their best friend Dan is kidnapped by one of these ghouls. Soon it becomes a race against the clock to rescue Dan before he meets his maker. It was quite the heart racing read! It's not exactly necessary to read this one before Cursed by Destiny--I figure since that hasn't released yet--but there is a moment or two that might have a pretty impact on the characters in the next novel. So to be prepared for that and to know the details behind a probable moment or two, then you should definitely read this! Plus, it's Bren and Bren is freaking hilarious!Overall Rating 5/5 stars less
