review 1: Since I was enjoying Cherie's Clockwork tale I decided to try another one of her series. This one moves at a much faster pace than the Clockwork series, most likely for a variety of reasons. Although I believe it's mostly because the story takes place in present time. Therefore the story needed to move at a fast pace simply to feel believable and mesh with our current society, fast change and our need for immediate gratification. A woman vampire as a private investigator, it made for a fun and action packed story. It probably helped that she's a bad ass, moves really fast, has exquisite eye sight and owns quite the catalog of weapons. Nicely done.

... moreorld, the vampires are interesting, and the characters are really good. I read this book and was certain I needed to read more with this cast of misfit characters. The story itself is a nice little mystery/get to know the characters set up, but it truly are the characters that make this book worthwhile. less
