review 1: The first time I tried reading this I couldn't get through it, something just didn't click. But my second go at it went more smoothly. I don't know, maybe the first time I just wasn't in the mood for the series...Anyways, the book is probably my least favorite in the series. That's not saying it's not bad, it just doesn't cover much territory I like. New Orleans, pirates, and prostitutes are all themes I am indifferent to.The positives: Captain Cly get's flushed out more. We continue the growth of Seattle's story in the background. The spread of the rotters (actually called zombies here) continues as well. And I really liked the small appearance by the Texas Ranger. All in all a decent read, but if you were to skip one in the series this would be it.
review 2: T
... morehis was the weakest of the series by far. There wasn't much going on and it was real slow. There was barely any action. The characters were fine and well-developed. but we're not really doing anything. All in all I don't know if this was a continuation book for the next ones but it was the worst of the four books, including 1.5 Clementine. I would recommend this book only because to finish the series I feel like it is necessary to read all of the books. Also note that this is the first time I'm using voice typing so it may be erratic, I will work on that. less

A slow point in the overall story. I hope it picks up again.

An easy, entertaining read. Not amazing writing but fun.
