review 1: I was hooked from the opening sentence. There were many times I thought "this couldn't happen" and yet as a story it was excellent. The character development was thorough. I did wish I knew more of the relationship between John and June Bug--maybe another book coming? It showed me how we can so easily make wrong assumptions (as I did while reading this book). A story of hope and hopelessness and redemption and loss.
review 2: I really enjoyed June Bug by Chris Fabry. This book is told from the perspective of a 9 year old girl. She lives out of an old RV on the road with a guy she thinks is her father. You learn throughout the book that he's not really her father, by blood anyway. He takes good care of her though like a father would. While reading, you're int
... moreroduced to several characters who are kind and helpful to them. All in all even if this was a Christian based book, (which is not normally my genre) it was really good. Was the ending a bit unrealistic? Yes but I couldn't imagine it ending any other way. less
