review 1: Remy Boudreux has seen his share violence. However, when he left the armed forces he never thought he would see that kind of violence again. Unfortunately, there is a serial killer on the loose in New Orleans and Remy is making it his duty to find the killer before his family of shifters becomes targets. Now is not the time for distractions but that's exactly what sultry singer Bijou Breaux is.Bijou is returning to her home after a successful career. She's tired of the musician's lifestyle. She saw how her father handled fame and she isn't interested in becoming like him at all. Bijou is content to open her own club and settle down in the Bayou. It doesn't take long for her to become wrapped up in the mystery surrounding the recent murders. It also doesn't take long for Bi... morejou's crush on Remy to resurface. Will these two hot-blooded people be able to find love and survive the danger stalking them?Feehan keeps her Leopard series spicy with the latest installment, Leopard's Prey. Remy and Bijou burn up the pages as the story flows fast and fierce. I could not get enough of the blinding chemistry between these two. It is very exciting to see Remy get his story. The murder mystery is intense and thrilling but the romance steals the show as Remy and Bijou get to know each other and discover the love between them. Christine Feehan has created a five-star romance with Leopard's Prey and you don't want to miss it!This book was reviewed by Miranda for Joyfully Reviewed (JR), and was provided by the publisher/author at no cost to JR for the purpose of being reviewed.
review 2: *Spoiler alert*I enjoyed the book, but there were many times when it dragged along. The ending was highly unsatisfactory. I was originally suspicious of Armand when Bijou met him in that secluded area of the bayou, but that went away when there were no other indications that he was the killer. I guess the quick explanation provided at the end tells us how he could've been the killer, but it felt implausible to me that Armand's reason for murdering people so ritualistically and brutally was so that he could "grind up the bones and use them to give his art texture". That just didn't ring true for me, because Armand could very well get lost in his art and didn't have any other friends aside from Bijou, but there were no other indications that he was a complete psycho. But I admit I could've missed the signs when I skimmed over some sections of the book that weren't as compelling to me. YMMV less
