review 1: #4 was a full 4 stars - almost 4.5. The ugly side of mankind is always one curricle ride away in this masterful mystery. Sebastian is coming out of the fog and into the arms of someone who is a kin a political monster, how very interesting where love leads. As for the mystery, this still brutality continues today with far more subtle villains, politicians and businesses. Fast read & held my interest til the final page...

Eight women were killed in a brothel fire, one of whom was a gentlewoman who died in Hero's arms. Hero enli... morests Sebastian's help as she wants to learn how a woman from her station in life could have ended up in such a situation. Together they risk the safety of ignoring the crime like the rest of high society would prefer, finding out more about each other than they expected in the process. Very fast-paced read, well written escape into Regency England. less
