review 1: I read this book because my friend Tanner was reading it, and said it was pretty good. I'm also into things like zombies so I thought it would be a good book. The story takes place in the present time in London. It goes around London from place to place with the main character. The character in this book is facing coming back to life, but being dead at the same time too. The characters name is B and she is a special kind of zombie. She is dead, but has recovered her wits and can talk and do all sorts of things. Now she has to fight and tell her beliefs and struggle along with telling people not to kill zombies, how they used to be someone, and its cruel. The whole story B stays the same, a static character, she does not change. She is set on not killing any zombies. She is... more tough, rigid, mean, and doesn't go against herself. "We cant kill these zombies like this! I wont do it, its too cruel." Shann pg.(124). I think the book is about believe in what you think, and don't let anyone change your mind. About halfway into the book, B breaks down and refuses to kill anymore zombies. Throughout the whole story, she sticks to that rule and doesn't do it. Her main reason was to kill nothing ever again, because her racist dad made her throw a kid to the zombies so they could get away, and B ended up getting killed in the mix of it. She regrets it everyday and vowed to never kill anything again, unless it was for her own life. I honestly like the book. I wish it was a little longer though. To me they seem to short. I would only recommend this book to people who can handle gory descriptive sentences. All in all i thought the book was great and i highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to read it.
review 2: Darren Shan is one of my favourite authors. That is why I'm continuing with this series. However, I'm not all impressed with these books. I can take them and leave them, which is unfortunate because I have all of them that have been published so far. I don't know if it's because I have a hard time connecting with zombie stories in general, or if it's because there's something about this series in general that I don't like, but where The Demonata series, the Saga of Darren Shan, and the Sage of Larten Crepsley are extremely high on my favourites list, these just seem to fall short. I will read the next one to see what happens to B, what will happen next, and who appears in it, but I'm not invested in the story as much as I was in previous series. less

I'm not sure what to think of my first zombie book. Perhaps I need to think on this one.

Book is OK. Interesting premise but not the best zombie book that I've ever read.
