review 1: I really really don't like the main character. Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble caring about her problems. I don't know. I'm just not getting into the story as much as I'd like to. The whole God VS. Satan thing left a bad taste in my mouth, and I really disliked that the story traced its roots back to Nazi Germany. I feel like there are enough stories set in/rooted in that time period and this did not need to be one of them. Maybe I'm just getting too old for them or something, but Darren Shan's books just aren't as good as they used to be :/
review 2: After spending the last few months wandering around London. B has recently met a group of people called the Angels. They are all like B and they seem pretty nice. This is all run by a man named Dr.Oystein. ... moreIn B's opinion he is a nutjob that believes in a ton of lies. But to all the other Angels, he is their hero. Dr.Oystein created a machine called the groove tube which can temporarily heal all of B's injuries. But before she can do that, Dr.Oystein tells B something that would change her life forever. What she was told at the underground complex was all a lie, She can actually live a few THOUSAND years, not a year. Also that she wasn't revitalized by luck, Dr.Oystein created a vaccine that allowed people to revitalize when they were infected. He also claimed that God gave him a sign to make things right in the world when he was allegedly killed by Nazi's using his own vaccine that created the first zombie, then revitalized without any vaccine. B's perspective on life is completely changed. She doesn't know whether to believe him or just book it. After several weeks in the groove tube, she comes out and can't believe it. She sees Rage. Her old enemy from the complex that killed Dr.Cerveris. After almost killing Rage, she then goes into training with another zombie named Master Zhang. He teaches her tricks to use in combat with other zombies and people too. After a while she is told that God saved Dr.Oystein, so Satan himself is allowed to do something too. So he creates the zombie apocalypse and creates the most evil thing in the world. None other than Mr.Dowling. B now knows that she must fight the battle of her life to possibly save the world. less
