review 1: The mystery continues. The gate of hell is now open because of Collin. His betrayal has cost him to lose Eli. Since Eli does not trust Collin anymore and he refuses to give her any information in regards to the curse, she has sought David's expertise (who has a Doctorate Degree in Native American History) in hoping that he will help her find some answers on how to battle the evil spirits who have escaped from hell. I don't normally like love triangle, especially when the third person is becoming the hero of the story. This is my first time liking it. The author has written it in a nice way that I don't have to pull my hair out. I like David for Eli. He is perfect for her in so many levels. I am hoping that third installment will definitely explain why Collin has b... moreroken the curse and who is really the mastermind.
review 2: HGS has a bad habit of compressing time, this book comes right after the first one which covered a week, yet having just lost a relationship and with her world completely changed she still manages to get another boyfriend, wtf? I just think bits like that let down the otherwise interesting plot and world that she's created here (and in the Rose Gardner series where time compression is a real problem).Anyway, good enough to get me to pay for the third book so I could see what happens next despite the annoyances. less
