review 1: I listened to this audiobook and again loved the narrator as Angel. The story has begun to get more complex and the relationships with the old characters have matured nicely. It is refreshing to see a main character that has a less than perfect history, but is maturing and becoming stronger while there are moments of letting her previous habits try to creep back into her life. The writer has hit the right balance with this story to make it believable. With book two in a series there is usually something deeper to be uncovered and that is exactly what we get. The conspiracy aspect is handled well and the bad guys don't show up all at once or confess their entire evil plans as soon as they come into the scene so it wasn't completely obvious how things were going to turn out.... more I officially love this series and have already listened to book three.
review 2: I started reading this second installment of the White Trash Zombie series with some trepidation. Zombies are not my thing and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the first book. I soon realized my mistake and could barely put it down. Angel, admittedly has self esteem issues but she stands up for herself and fights her own battles. Her insightful relationship with Marcus is further proof of her evolution as a great female character. less
