review 1: Wow. Words cannot describe how much I loved this book. The characters are so wonderfully written and the story is so sad and desperate that it is a completely absorbing read and what should be a sad book all the way through still made me laugh. The ending is guessable from very early on and throughout I hoped the ending would be different alas it was not but by the time I got to the end I did not mind and it seemed to be a fitting end. I found myself liking every character and wanted everyone to have a happy ending, something that is impossible but it was nice to wish it. Be warned though during the last 100 pages I cried about a year's worth of tears, it is utterly compelling and desperately sad. Despite the very sad story and ending this is a must read for any Dorothy Ko... moreomson lover or someone who likes a compelling read.
review 2: I enjoyed reading this book as I know that with a DK novel I will get something easy to read that will keep me turning the pages. This is a sad story and an emotional read but it was overshadowed by the far fetched nature of the plot and the fact that the ending was just irritating. If two people are meant to be together (the entire book is based around this) and they don't end up together it really needs to have a better ending than this one to make the reader not feel short changed. less
