review 1: As per usual, Brubaker delivers on the merger of super hero and espionage. This tales tells us what really happened to Bucky Barnes after the events of Fear Itself. (I hope this has been out long enough that I'm not spoiling anything- but if you are at all interested in Winter Soldier it probably won't ruin anything. Just in case, consider yourself warned!)The Winter Soldier and Black Widow go on assignment to find out who has bought the information on not only the location of hidden Cold War era sleeper agents, but the codes to awaken them from stasis. Bucky is the right man for the job because he trained them back in the day. He and Nat go on a global chase to stop these elite agents from wreaking havoc for their mysterious new commander.The whos and how's of the plot ar... moree like a Bond movie in the Marvel U and prove to be a very enjoyable ride. Throw Victor Von Doom into the mix and it gets even better! Guice's gritty art only helps to enhance an already enjoyable story. I highly recommend to comic fans, spy thriller fans, and anyone who enjoyed the Winter Soldier film.
review 2: The concept here is pure gold; a series with the Winter Soldier and the Black Widow on missions for SHIELD, in adventures that skirt the line between espionage and superheroes. I love this stuff. The execution isn't quite perfect (the story spends a little too much time in Barnes' head, although I may feel that way because I read much of it in Captain America, and the art is a little muddy at times), but it's still fun and unique. less
