review 1: [3.5 stars]In The Lion and the Crow we're told Sir William's -The Lion- and Sir Christian's -The Crow- vicissitudes.William's the son of a minor noble, renowned and proud fighter; Christian's the seventh son in the Brandon's lineage: despised and harassed both by his older brothers and his father, he has learned since childhood to rely on his wits and schemes to escape unpleasant situations.When William seeks Sir Brandon's aide in a mission to free his sister, prisoner in her own house and victim of a violent husband, the only help he gets is to be paired with Christian, who's only too happy to volunteer himself in William's mission to put as much distance as possible from his father's castle and his obnoxious brothers.As their journey progresses they'll have to deal with ... moretheir demons, an undeniable and growing attraction, violent husbands and incestuous brothers to arrive to the predictable happy ending.All in all it was an enjoyable read, if a little lacking in depth and tridimensionality.
review 2: I cannot decide if I will give this book 3 or 4 stars.It was a good enough story for 4 stars, but I tend to lean towards 3 stars, but that is simply because of my own reading preferences.I don't really like a world in which 2 men cannot be together. It is solved in this story, but it did not sit well with me.So I am more of a modern day girl I guess.Christian and William were very sweet together and the story was well-written and intriguing.And they were knights... very hot I must say. ;)So 3 stars it will be, but simply because the setting was not completely to my liking. less
