review 1: For some reason, I'm in a phase right now of first-person female character thrillers (thank you Gillian Flynn and my apparently not all that discerning tastes), and somehow this came up as a suggested read. In a lot of ways, I really liked this book. The main character, in both her 2004 and 2008 self is really relatable, really easy to root for, and really likeable all around. Stuart is likeable, Lee is, y'know, Lee, and the tension throughout the pretty much entire second half is all-consuming. For some reason though, as much as I liked the individual components when you break them down, this book wasn't a knockout. If I had to choose something, I would say it was just a bit too long. That said, definitely worth a read if it sounds like its up your alley, cause it's some ... morecraaazy stuff.
review 2: I liked this book a lot - though I did find that it took a good 100 pages to start to get interesting (as in a "can't put it down" kind of way). Up until that point it was a bit of a struggle to stay with. Once the story line starting picking up speed it was good. I expected from the high ratings to be on the edge of my seat at all times, which wasn't the case, but it did keep you engaged through the last 100 pages or so. I'd recommend it to others. less

A good psychological thriller. Once you start you don't want to put it down.
