review 1: Violence against women is never easy to read about and the author does not hold back in this book. Catherine Bailey suffers with extreme OCD brought on by an extremely violent relationship with her boyfriend Lee. The book covers Catherine's everyday life living with this horrendous infliction and her worries when Lee is released from prison. Towards the end of the story I found certain parts quite unrealistic but the build-up to the actual assault did keep me reading.
review 2: Chapter 1: 2005. Chapter 2: 2001. Chapter 3: 2007. Chapter 4: 2003. OMG. What kind of confusing mess had I gotten myself into? After the first four chapters, though, the book settled into a rhythm - then and now, with Catherine the primary focus in each time frame. In 2003, we watch her
... moreslowly disintegrate; in 2007, we watch her slowly trying to put her life back together. Then, of course, past and present collide. Parts of this book were way too graphic for comfort, but I found it gripping nevertheless. Time for some lighter reading... less

Really good. Some parts predictable but a good book overall. Gave me the shivers a few times.
