review 1: This wasn't what I was expecting. Initially I found the writing style very difficult to get on with, the frequent time checks seemed to break the story up too much and I struggled to get to grips with who was who and how they were connected. As the book moved along I found both easier to manage. It was a good story, I felt a couple of the characters were a little one dimensional but all in all an enjoyable read and I would read more by this author.
review 2: 2.5 stars. ... moreow that Haynes is a former police intelligence analyst and that background definitely shows in her writing but I prefer the more suspenseful style that she used in Human Remains and Into the Darkest Corner. I believe this was the first book that Haynes wrote even though it was published after her other books so I believe she has become a much better mystery writer and I look forward to reading other books by her. less

Decent detective novel. Rushed the ending I thought, no wrapping up of Nigel or Taryn.
