review 1: Great book, I had truly only one disappointment which was when Hardinge cut off two months of Neverfell's memories at the very end (and at the most crucial point too when they were beginning the rebellion!!!!). And despite how Hardinge gave us flickers of those parts untold it didn't really satisfy my hunger, and left me rather confused (me and the protagonist actually). With that said though, there was great imaginary going on, fantastic characters, and it's a shame it had to come to an end. I will miss not having a sequel to look forward too!

... more bit heavy-handed but it's made up for by the whole awesome main concept: an underground world where people's faces are blank but for the expressions they deliberately learn to make. Strong writing. less
