review 1: 3.5 stars. This is an excellent sequel, and the audiobook is superbly narrated. I honestly don't think I'd enjoy this series half as much if I wasn't listening to it, and I am not normally an audio fan! Sophronia et al are back to their conspiracies, and this time, there is much more of a supernatural leaning, as the vampires and werewolves and their position in society are explored more in depth. Wasn't quite as pleased with the plot/ending of this one, but I'll definitely still listen to the next installment.
review 2: Loved this novel!!! This series is so creative & breath of fresh air!!!! Victorian era with vampires & werewolves mixed in with a flying school that teaches young ladies the finer points in manners & skills in the ballroom & battlefield..... In
... moregenious!! Love the fact it does not revolve around love interests, but there is a slight love triangle that emerges in this second novel between Soap & Felix vying for our leading lady!! Love Soap, but as a best guy friend not as the love interest to our leading protagonist!! Our heroine is tough & take charge personality which is great in so many aspects!! Considering the era, gender, age etc. a refreshing change from all other characters!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS NOVEL!!!! It's a fast yet fun read!!!!! Can't wait for the third novel Waistcoats & Weaponry!!! Creative titles love that!!!!! :) less
