review 1: As far as the 'New 52!' series is concerned, Batgirl, the story arc featuring Barbara Gordon coming back with the freedom of her legs and revenge in her heart, contains some of the most breathtaking artwork. This volume, that inexorably leads our protagonist to the biggest villain of Gotham first, and then to her nemesis, is no exception. Unfortunately, the stories involving Joker had been already read by me in the separate volume. Nevertheless, the scale of action, and the amount of ass-kicking that gets displayed, make the reading of this volume rather gratuitous. Recommended.
review 2: Great art work mixed with the brilliant writing of Gail Simone makes this book a must read for Batgirl fans. However, it is a very dark story. So, if you are looking for a f... moreun and easy read about superheroes saving the day in spectacular fashion then this book is not for you.Barbara Gordan is having a bad string of luck: she has only been out of the wheel chair for a few months when her estranged mother comes back into her life and has been kidnapped by the Joker; her psychotic brother wants to kill her, and the Joker want to marry her and then chop off her limbs. With her few ounces of strength left it is up to Batgirl to rise to the occasion. less
