review 1: This is a very quick but important description of the way we can love and support our children as well as others around us. As may be inferred from the title, the author presents 5 "love languages" which explain the way certain people give and receive love. While it may be a bit early in Clara's life for us to understand the primary way she communicates love, it is a good reminder to clearly state what we feel. The main points are driven home again and again which feels ham-fisted during the initial reading, but I plan to revisit this book every few years for a good reminder. I'd recommend this to others with kids.
review 2: What is my husband, my children and my love language? Physical touch, words if affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service. We
... moreneed all if them but one is most important. From the book...A quality time idea...talk about feelings as you read stories....if someone experiences disappointment, talk about feelings of disappointment she's had along with sadness, anger that may have gone along with it.Many don't know how to handle their feelings. This relaxed ritual at bedtime can help prevent some of life's deepest problems. less
