Justice League Vol. II
review 1: So this is the "New 52" DC Universe reboot of the Justice League. First of all, I don't think I've ever read a single Justice League comic (just watched the animated series now and then), so I have no baggage about whether this title is true to the old version, or a shocking betrayal of all that is good and decent in the world.Random thoughts:The other heroes basically mock Batman for having no superpowers through most of this book, which I thought was pretty funny. Green Lantern is a hothead and jerk and views everything as a pissing contest. Which makes for an annoying character, but is probably exactly how a human granted superpowers by aliens would actually act. Flash follows him around trying to get him to please just shut up for once. Wonder Woman apparently took th... moree short bus from Paradise Island, but she can definitely gouge out a giant's eyes when she needs to. Steve Trevor's rank changes from colonel to captain mid-story. Sloppy editing. The Cyborg's origin was well done, and easily the highlight of the whole story. Having coincidentally just read the New Teen Titans collection that covered his origin, here the characterization of Victor and his father is less melodramatic, and feels a little more plausible. The art's quite spectacular, but overwrought in places. The plot feels rushed, too. As if it was solely contrived to get these guys all together, and dispensed with too briefly. Could have easily been extended into a more epic conflict. This is Darkseid, after all. It has a weird epilogue tacked on that must segue into some other JL story.

solid. Close to a 4*. artwork by Jim Lee may be the best I've seen. Incredible.

A teď mi řekněte: proč jsem nezačala číst komiksy dřív? :D
