review 1: Killjoys is like a cyberpunk crossover between The Warriors and Mad Max. One of my favorite styles and two of my favorite films. So obviously I loved the style of this book. The art is great, I love the visuals. The writing is done pretty well, but I feel like there was always information I was missing. Maybe because the series is so short. I really enjoyed the book, but I will enjoy it so much more if there is more of it to come.
review 2: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys doesn't have the same well laid out plotting of the Umbrella Academy. I didn't feel there was enough back story and explanation to motivate many of the characters. Overall the story felt slapdash and in need of an editor. It seems like the way and Simon had more ideas than they knew
... more what to do with and shoehorned them all into the book, rather than edit down what would be best for a cohesive story. It wasn't a bad read, just not a good one. less

Great art, but found the story hard to follow.
