God of Vengeance
review 1: My sea chest has been pack away for far to long, and it`s great to be back with Sigurd and the boy`s in the shield wall. After a little diviersion into the English Civil War,which i hope it will not be to long before he returns to in the future,Giles is back to were his heart is,the world of the Vikings,to tell the tale of the origins of Sigurd and his fellowship. The difference with God of Vengeance compared to the Raven books is that for me Giles, after five books has grown into a even better writer and it shows,as God of Vengeance while being a saga full of blood and thunder which grabs you by the throat and does not let you go till the last page,he is just setting you up for more of Sigurd Haraldarson and i for one can not wait to set sail again and be immersed into the wo... morerld of the Sword-Norse. So same again please Giles and the sooner the better.
review 2: Breathtaking, quite simply, breathtaking! Prepare to have your 'awe' well and truly inspired by this amazing author. Sigurd's quest to avenge his family's slaughter is relentless, brutal, bloody, but utterly mesmerising. There's no let up in the action, and you barely have time to draw breath in this glorious, passionate Viking saga that will have you rooting for Sigurd and his warriors, horrific though it is, due to the level of violence. Giles Kristian is a GREAT storyteller who had me hanging on his every word. Thank you to Goodreads for this first reads giveaway. less

That was a bloody good book. I enjoyed reading how Sigurd came to know his men.

Damn fun viking romp, great characters and a ton of viking similes (too many?).

A rollercoaster read. Getting close to Bernard Cornwell's Saxon tales
