review 1: Five friends, a remote cottage; a visitor who stays and five becomes six, whereupon the dynamics change irrevocably. That's the storyline from the early 1980s, in the here-and-now is Lila, suffering after a tragic loss and watching her relationship crumble in the aftermath. The setting for both storylines is the cottage but as the plots unfold we sense the links growing stronger. This is very engrossing, an easy holiday read on one level, an exploration of one charismatic leader and his impact, a study of grief, a mystery and gradually unfolding puzzle solution but overall an interesting and entertaining read.
review 2: Può succedere che fai le 2 del mattino per finire di leggere un libro... soprattutto se per tutta la durata della lettura pensi che le cose va... moredano in un modo, per poi andare nella direzione opposta, e poi di nuovo tornare sui binari di prima. Un legame, qualcosa da scoprire, che ti attanaglia dentro fino a che non arrivi all'epilogo, e lì si che ne esce devastata. un libro davvero bello e coinvolgente, sicuramente consigliatissimo!!! Un'altelane di sensazioni, speranza che si infrange a terra, per poi toi tornare a farti sperare... Davvero un romanzo ben fatto, ben scritto e che ti trascina dentro la storia. less
