The Good Neighbors
review 1: Black, Holly. Kin (also Kith and Kind). Rue's mother has disappeared and her father just sits in his chair and doesn't respond to her anymore. Rue soon discovers that she can see things that others can't, and in fact she is half fairy. Her mother, a full fairy, has returned to her people because of Rue's father's unfaithfulness. This trilogy follows Rue as she interacts with the fae, discovers her heritage, and determines that she alone must save humanity.I liked this trilogy and the books were a fast read. The story was easy to follow, and even though I guessed at the ending of Kind before it appeared, I was still satisfied with the resolution. This was a great vacation read, and it would be an easy sell for my graphic novel and paranormal patrons.Recommended for: tee... morensRed Flags: One of Rue's friends spends time with water fairies who bite him and suck his blood - the pictures make it clear that he's naked, but nothing is shown. review 2: You know what I am tired of? I'm tired of books that have pretty tinkerbelle fairies in them, that imagine the Fae to be these wonderful dancing little sprites who do only good and delight humans...That is not the Fae *I* know... nor the Fae held in ancient legends.THIS is a book that depicts the Fae races as they always were in the OLD myths... but it is a story set in modern times! What child doesn't dream of waking up and finding out he or she is REALLY something wonderful and supernatural??Yeah, sometimes that's not a GOOD thing....in this tale, it's a very BAD thing, not because she isn't who she is born to be, but because she IS true to her SELF... not every Fae is wicked, either- they're just... different.VERY different.I ADORED this series. I would love to add them to my own small collection of books, and that's saying something. Usually a read or two and I am good- these... I would love to share with friends and family... love to be able to read again, at whim.Fantastic artwork, Amazing storyline, what isn't there to say about this Triad?? Run out and grab it up, scoop it up and hold it close. It's a rarity!! less

A pretty satisfying end to the series, overall. I do love eerie, amoral supernatural creatures. :)

I really enjoyed the story of this graphic novel. I hated the artwork for the most part.

Hmm, not a bad ending I just feel like it was wrapped up a bit too quickly.
