review 1: After reading an Alice in Wonderland manga before this it made me dislike the graphics. I read in someone else's review that they thought the graphics were ugly and they didn't match from one page to the next. This is a faery story so there are a lot of creatures and the majority are quite creepy looking. The main character Rue is not very attractive either. I would think since she is half fae she would look less freaky but everyone is just sketched harshly. Okay enough bashing....story.In book two we discover that grandpa faery wants to take over the city and everyone has to find out how to stop him. These graphic novels aren't very long so it took about 45 mins to read. I think the first book was better.
review 2: In the second part of this series, we pick up
... more with Rue trying to come to terms with being half faery. Her Grandfather is trying to get her to join the Fae and use her in his plan to take over the city. Meanwhile there seems to be a rift forming between Rue and her boyfriend Dale, he doesn’t seem to be able to accept the changes in Rue or is it that he’s scared of what she really is? Dale disappears a lot and no one seems to know where he’s going, but he has some dirty little secrets of his own that he’s not ready to share. Rue has found her mother again and they are trying to build upon their relationship as Rue thought her mother was just crazy for years. Rue also has to try and figure out where one of her friends has disappeared too. Great continuation of the story, and I can’t wait to see how it all wraps up in the third instalment. less

This graphic novel to me was dark and really depressing.
