review 1: A fantastic story! I don't give out many 5 star reviews, I save those for the very best books I have read and Wool is one of them. I really had no idea what the book was about, I picked it up on sale and it's been sitting on my Kindle for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to read it and wish I hadn't put it off! I won't go into the story details, you can read those anywhere. The characters were fleshed out and the story was engaging. The Silo came alive in my mind as I read. I haven't felt this way about a book since I read The Stand by Stephen King. You know that feeling you get when you finish a book and wish you could read it again for the first time? To savor each and every detail again? I got that feeling reading Wool.
review 2: This i
... mores, without a doubt, one of the best written books I have read in ages. A description that stood out to me was "even in the darkness, his smile threw shadows". The book is full of these and shows just how talented the writer is. Hugh Howey has an amazing command of language, the plot is thought provoking and the characters are developed to the point of reality. I can't wait to start the next book in the series. less
