review 1: Emma Caldridge is on a tropical Island collecting plants for a cosmetic company. A voodoo bokor appears and has with her a zombie like man with a machete who destroys part of her work before she can stop him. Dead Asleep had everything you could want, a tropical island, voodoo, dangerous arms dealers, and Rock Stars. There is plenty of action. This book gets better and more exciting the more you read!
review 2: Didn't really enjoy this book as much as the previous ones in the series. The action was very fast paced, leaving very little time for character development. After having read this book, I don't feel I know anything more about Emma or Sumner. The ending felt a bit rushed as well, and the sleeping sickness plot line just kind of ended abruptly and unsa... moretisfactorily. That said, I'll still probably read the next book, hoping it returns to 4 star status. less
