review 1: I really enjoyed this. I love the author's style. I love how original the characters were. Paintball isn't something that is necessarily always heard about or popular and I really liked that. I also like that the main focus wasn't school and such of that relation. Throughout the whole book "Buds before studs" was a theme, I loved it. I really did. That's something girls need to be reminded of, I really liked that. This was a good book, definitely a book to pick up and read if you're feeling book-deficiency.
review 2: Could have been better. Most of the book is about how Grace takes pity on Kya for having been raped at a young age and allows Kya to treat her badly because of it. Kya spends her time screwing things up, while Grace keeps making excuses for Kya, be... morecause she is 'damaged'. The characters don't seem to grow much until the last two chapters. I liked the ending, but those last two chapters aren't enough to save the book for me. Also, James, Lucas and Levi seemed interesting to me and I feel they could have been developed more. less
