review 1: Gah I struggled with this one! Not only was it super boring, but it was just so ridiculous. Why would an older, stronger vampire agree to share his power? He got absolutely nothing out of it. It was just thrown in there as a way to make Bones stronger and better. And speaking of, mind reading is the most annoying thing in books. Authors often pick and choose when the character remembers he can read minds (ex: Bones answers Cat's thoughts but forgets he can do this when he has a prisoner to interrogate, instead trying to anger the prisoner into slipping up and giving away details? Could have saved a lot of time if he just read his mind). I hate mind reading cuz it gives the 1 person an unequal advantage against everyone else. No one likes an invincible hero. Takes all the f... moreun out of it I think. Not sure I'm gonna continue this series if the other books are as terrible as this one.
review 2: So yeah...I read this book in the span of a day. "At Grave's End" is a decent read; the sex is nothing special, but given the plot, who cares about that? Some plot highlights:-Cat's father gets dealt with-Bones gets new powers thanks to his grandsire-Cat gets tortured by her father-zombies-new vampires are made by Bones-Dracula arrives in the Night Huntress universe-Cat's mother finally comes to an understanding with her daughter's new worldThis is the book that will tell you if you like Cat and her adventures or not. Although, by now, if you're on the third book, you pretty much like her already, right? Or Bones, if no one else. less
