review 1: A very bittersweet, yet perfect to a very thought-provoking and original series. I'm too lazy to review each volume by itself because I read through them all very quickly, but this last volume was the crowning glory in my opinion. I felt very protective of the protagonist Gus throughout the story-as I am sure most readers did simply because of his sweet, innocent determination. He and his brethren become worthy successors to the dying human species. I thought it was appropriate that humanity did not find a way to save itself in the end and that we bowed out gracefully. It was definitely different from many other post-apocalyptic stories I've read.
review 2: A great ending for a great series that I started when the first issue was released.I had first heard of J
... moreeff when perusing a local comic bookstore in London, ON and noticed the title "Essex County" which pulled me right to it. I didn't regret it.Years later, I still remember each story as I would any great story. That says a lot for me.Jeff has never been my favourite artist, but he has definitely stuck to his own style and I appreciate that. I do, however, believe to be a great storyteller, whether writing some fantasy/sci-fi story like Sweet Tooth or bringing home stories in Essex County which brought me a sense of nostalgia I didn't even know I had!I gave each of the previous comics 4 stars because, as previously stated, I've not been the greatest admirer of his art, but the fifth book was a great way to end the series and a great way to end a character. Perfect in all sense of how character development should be and how it should end.I had the fortune of meeting Jeff once and have had several of my books autographed and I intend on sharing them with my own child(ren) later in life. These stories he writes bring a sense of morality but with a quirk that not many authors have the ability to offer.Congratulations to you Jeff. Keep us reading your stories for years to come. I'll be keeping an eye out for them! :) less

This is a type of story I would love to see turned into a tv series or movie series.
