review 1: Ok, this book was just too cute to not look at. CAN YOU BLAME ME??? Oh my gosh, every page is a giant ball of adorable silliness, I found myself laughing many times! The illustrations make it even funnier too. Any fan of Star Wars will love this book for sure, whether you're young or old.These quotes in particular made me laugh out loud:Vader to Luke: "DON'T MAKE BUBBLES."Luke: "But Dad, you said we could go to Tosche Station after nap!"Vader: "I AM ALTERING THE DEAL. PRAY I DON'T ALTER IT ANY FURTHER."Vader: "THIS ISN'T THE TOY YOU'RE LOOKING FOR..."Luke: "Yes, it is." *Points at a Jar Jar Binks doll*Vader: "...AND THEN DARTH MAUL LEAPT UP AND DESTROYED QUI-GON..."Luke's face: O_________OSeriously, if you guys see this book anywhere, go and read it.
review 2:... more The retail price of this item is $14.99 plus tax. I find it unconscionable that such a book exists at that price point with so little effort going into it, so few pages, so few thoughts. I did find myself smiling at about two of the cartoons inside, but in my mind that mere suggestion of entertainment did not equate to the price of a dinner for a family at home, or about a week's worth of internet usage, or two new novels. Not even close. I bought this at the flea market this summer for 50 cents, and even at that price I was shocked to discover that Jeffrey Brown (who usually gives readers very little meat to chew on in his works) is now giving us even less in terms of quantity and quality. At this rate of artistic downsizing, Mr. Brown's work should encompass individual pamphlets in about a year, with a retail price tag of $49.99. And in 5 years he will be giving us an indiscernible squiggle or maybe just a single dot on a business card with a price tag of $200, available at finer retailers near you. less

A very clever and sweet alternate story that shows what Darth Vader would have been like as the father figure in young Luke Skywalker's life. From sharing his ice cream cone to teaching Luke about death stars and avoiding the talk of the birds and the bees, Darth Vader is your typical dad.The illustrations done by the author Jeffrey Brown bring a classic Star Wars scene and soften it with the love of father and son. This book is an enjoyable read whether or not you are familiar with the movies, but if you have seen the movies you'll enjoy it even more.
