review 1: More like 2.5, but since it's part of a series I like so much I rounded up. The pacing of the story was all wrong and the plot was pretty boring. Which is such a shame since I found Hart to be the most compelling of the brothers after Ian, and I was really looking forward to his reconciliation with Eleanor. I think the heart of the novel lied with Hart and Eleanor's past story, but there was no justice done to it, so the rest of the novel almost fell apart.
review 2: Another Mackenzie book to absolutely love. Hart and Eleanor's story was just sad. I wanted to smack Hart upside his pompous head so many times. And don't let me get started on Mrs. Palmer. I wanted to do her in myself!I also loved Ian's part in Hart's story. I loved seeing his progress throug
... moreh his brothers stories. He is stronger and calmer in each book and the part he played in this story was just amazing. This series is a keeper. I know I will re-read it in the future. less

This one might be my favorite of the series so far. Such great characterization! And plot!

While I liked Eleanor, I didn't care for too much for the plot.
