review 1: I probably would have given this book five stars at the time I read it, but it's been a few years, and I can't really remember much about the story or characters; hence, it doesn't really have the 'memorable quotient' I'd expect for a five starrer.Ne'erthelest, I'm particularly oriented toward books that reference the rock and roll culture of the late-1960s, and 'tis written entirely in verse - so others who are into such stuff might want to give this one a go.
review 2: Thirteen year old Lyza's grandfather dies and leaves behind three maps, Her grandfather had been researching three locations in which the pirate Captain Kidd may have left a large buried treasure. She and her two friends set out to solve this mystery. The story takes place during the Viet Na... morem war. Lyza's friend's brother has been drafted and is sent to serve in the war. It is a well written story that held my interest. I will also add this one to my school library. less
