review 1: I'll be honest, a picture book biography of Peter Roget wouldn't have caught my eye if not for the review in Kirkus. It's a short but highly enjoyable read with absolutely stunning illustrations and creative page layouts. I love the incorporation of archival documents in the illustrations. It's the type of thing I hope could inspire kids to go digging around in history themselves someday, and just complements the text perfectly.

Everyone should read this - because everyone has used Mr. Roget's Thesaurus at some point and they should know how it came into existence or being. For example, the book was just lists of related words at first. Roget had an index at the back to help people locat... moree the word they were looking for, because he wanted his book to be used by everyone. But it was not in alphabetical order. And the illustrations are also fantastic. less
