review 1: Maybe it's because I had made the mistake of reading Ms. McMahon's books before, but this one just wasn't doing it for me. All of it was just been-there-done-that. Like another reviewer said; the characters were straight out a playbook: bi-sexual, angry artist; alcoholic, with regrets, mother running away from her life; etc, etc. Add in the angry ghost looking for revenge and poof we have a story. I really preferred Ms. McMahon's Promise Not To Tell or Island of Lost Girls. Much better ghost story/mystery

... moret much to go on for the Winnie stuff. Also for the life of me that first hanging scene with Spencer feels like it had Henry's voice and confused me for ages. I didn't mind reading in Emma's voiced portions though, they were neat, with her habits to trying to figure out if she herself was crazy. Mel's line felt inconclusive, but I guess inconsequential to the plot, but if the case why flesh out her habits so hard. Overall I did like to keep trying to guess ahead but my mystery loving self has trouble with the wrapping of the plot. less
