review 1: One Past MidnightJessica ShirvingtonFantasyReview: Sabine is like no one else. Most people only have one life, but Sabine has two. From Midnight to midnight she lives in her Roxbury, Massachusetts life and then from midnight to midnight she relives the same day in her Wellesley, Massachusetts life. In her one life her family is poor and she is a rebel. Then in her other life her family is rich and she is very popular. What happens to Sabine in one life also happens to her in her other life, so Sabine lives being a teenager twice as long as anyone else. Unfortunately for Sabine she cannot tell anyone about her double lives because let’s face it who would believe her and not just think she was crazy. Then something changes, Sabine breaks her wrist in her Roxbury life but ... moreboth her arms are fine in her Wellesley life. This intrigues Sabine and she starts to experiment but hurting herself in her Roxbury life to see if it happens in her other life. The experiments do not affect her Wellesley life but, Sabine is not careful enough and her parents find out that she has hurt herself. When they ask her what is going on with her she lets her secret slip. As you can well imagine her parents have her Admitted. While there Sabine decides that if things are changing maybe she can have one life and not have to keep living two different lives. Then she meets Ethan, a nurse at the psych ward she is admitted to. Sabine instantly is attracted to Ethan and she starts to open up to him. Ethan makes her decision harder to make on which world to choose or whether to keep living in both worlds. This book was wonderful. I love how Jessica Shirvington, the author, does such a wonderful job making Sabine two different people in her two different worlds but also just being herself throughout. I feel really bad for Sabine. One life is hard enough I could not imagine having to live two different lives and not have anyone truly understand you in either world. I also liked how much Sabine changes and grows up throughout the story. She is eighteen and about to graduate from high school and has much more to figure out than most high school graduates but she does figure things out. I have to admit I loved Ethan. He was so determined to make Sabine realize that death was not the answer for either of her lives and he is so instrumental in Sabine’s decision to live both lives that without him this book would not have been the same. Not to mention there wouldn’t have been a romantic plot without him. I do warn girls that you will need tissues for this book and not just for sad parts but for parts that are just so wonderful they make you cry. At least that is the case if you are as emotional as I can be. This is a great story that I think girls will truly enjoy.I received a free ecopy of this book from Netgalley for my honest review.
Sabine'i sevdiğimi söyleyebilirim.
