review 1: Lord of Rage was pretty standard macho male fare, which I don't mind on occasion. In this case, though, I felt like too many story elements were included without being adequately fleshed out and I just never got involved with any character. It was ok, not great.Primal Instincts was hot and the seduction was definitely tantalizing. Again, though, I actively disliked some of the characters and was only lukewarm on the others. Also, maybe this is just a preference, but the sub-plot of a 20 year old man being able and willing to commit his life to a 35 year old woman just doesn't fly for me. I have regrets about reading this.
review 2: I've read a great many books in my time; some of them have been terrible, but I have never regretted reading a book all the wa... morey through. At least, not until I read this one. Lord of Rage reads like a first draft of a novel that was accidentally printed without being edited, and that is not even it's greatest fault.You may be able to look past the weak prose and grammatical errors. You may be able to look past the problems with the pacing of the plot (which, let's face it, is not the most important facet of an erotic novel) and the inconsistencies within it.But why would you want to look past these things when all that is left without them is an abusive relationship between a damselled female protagonist and a violent, unsympathetic male character? This book is basically the erotica equivalent of amateur porn filmed in someone's shed.It seems that the 'e' at the end of the male lead's name was too embarrassed to stick around for more than a few pages, and quietly excused itself. I only wish that the rest of the letters making up the manuscript had done the same before the book was printed and I wasted two hours of my life reading it. less
