with The Obsession By Nora Roberts my friends ! My mom recommended this one. She reads quite a bit so I respect her opinion without question.
The author throws you head first into a unfathomable situation where a young girl witnesses horrors involving a very close family member. A very vivid narrative of harrowing experiences and dark scary woods will keep you at the edge of your seat curling your toes in anticipation. The terrified girl then has her life changed forever. She tries to move on and like many Nora Roberts’ lead characters she has a special talent which is also her profession. She is rich and can afford to buy real estate quite early in her life. She meets a young man. I have no doubt he is the ONE ! They always are. Nothing goes wrong for a lady who has already suffered so much !
That’s all I will tell you now. I am keeping it short so as not to take the thrills away from prospective readers.
After these first few pages the story slows down and gathers the easy pace when the reader becomes complacent and starts enjoying the new life of this young lady . She picks furniture for her new house and decides what color to paint the walls while the reader is left wondering how this will lead to the finale. I am waiting for the pace to pick up soon and go back to the nail-biting , hair-curling thriller it started off as.
Amazon has 6000+ reviews with an average rating of 4.5*. 81% gave it 5* . I would give it 10 if I could, for the first pages of the book. I am hoping the rest of it deserves as many stars.
So that’s one book – there are 3 biographical/autobiographical books I am reading all at the same time. I have to admit I cannot read these books too quickly but the historical value of these accounts are huge and I must read them however slow I may be.
I have progressed furthest with Mr. Gandhi’s Autobiography. I am having fun reading it. There is a lot of self-introspection. He finds many flaws in his own character. Maybe that is they key to greatness !
Happy Wednesday !
